FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UK's First National Secondhand Day Launched by Preloved
The UK's first National Secondhand Day is taking place on Sunday 21st April, as the country's largest independent secondhand sales site, https://duet.willing.world seeks to encourage more Brits to celebrate the older things in life by selling, buying and recycling.
Ian Buzer, Managing Director of Preloved, said, "We thought it was high time for a National Secondhand Day to really celebrate and shout out that secondhand is not second best, but a great way to spring clean, bag a bargain at a fraction of the cost of buying it new, and cash-in your unwanted clutter. You can also have some great fun trying out your haggling skills and meeting new people."
He continued, "The UK throws away far too many items into landfill or hoards things like unwanted clothes that haven't been worn for a year and are worth an estimated £30 billion. National Secondhand Day is a way to encourage people to stop and think about how they could be recycling their clutter and making some cash, rather than chucking it out and increasing landfill."
The website will feature advice on how people can get involved with National Secondhand Day, including:
- Buying items that raise cash for charity
- Decluttering and organising items in the home
- Where to visit a car boot sale across the UK
- Ways to recycle while saving money
- Recycling items by giving them away for free
Preloved is also offering everyone who visits its site half-price Full and Premium membership for the 24-hour period of National Secondhand Day. Ian says, "It means that everyone has the chance to bag the best bargains first, so it's a great day to try out secondhand buying and selling and take part in the UK's annual spring clean."
The website will have expert advice on decluttering from the Association of Professional Declutterers & Organisers (UK), information on recycling and saving money from Recyclebank, competitions to win copies of books by leading antiques experts Judith Miller and Mark Hill, and information about carboot sales taking place across the UK.
